To foster an improved understanding and implementation of ethical review of biomedical research studies in India.

To improve communication among Ethics Committees in India as a collaborating agency.

To collaborate in organizing meetings/ workshops/ symposia/educative programs and conferences on topics relevant to the ethics review process.

To assist with the finalization of SOPs for the Ethics Committees in the country.

To support Ethics Committees in India to get accredited with National/International agencies.

Extend advisory support in addressing and managing diverse ethical review issues.

To coordinate for SIDCER-FERCAP Program activity for recognition of Ethics Committees.

To hold annual conferences.
