Activities of the Association

Overview

FERCI strives to achieve its goal through the following activities:

  • Improving communication among Ethics Committees (ECs)

  • To assist Ethics Committees in India to get accredited with National / International agencies

  • Acting as national collaborating agency for ethics review committees

  • Organising meetings, workshops and symposia on ethics review process

  • Assisting with the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures for ethical review in the country

  • Taking into consideration the WHO Operational Guidelines for Ethics Committees Reviewing Biomedical Research.

  • Facilitating training and education opportunities for members of ECs in the country

  • Coordinating communications and responses on the subject of the ethical review of biomedical research with other global bodies like WHO, INSERM, CIOMS, UNESCO, other regional international organizations involved in ethical review such as Forum for Ethical Review Committees in the Asian and Western Pacific Region (FERCAP), FLACEIS, PABIN, FICCIS, FOCUS etc., and international funded projects

  • Editing and publishing journals, books magazines, documents and other publication for promoting ethical review of biomedical research.

  • Collection of Document Videos for Investigators in collaboration with Pfizer

  • Publishing Books for creating awareness about clinical research procedures in collaboration with Pfizer

  • Formulating and updating Standard Operating Procedures for Ethics Committee Members

  • Conducts Training Programme for Ethics Committee Members

  • Clinical Research Advancement Towards Excellence [CReATE] software for Ethics Committee Members in collaboration with PATH now being hosted by Translational Health Science & Technology Institute, Faridabad

  • Conducts Pre-conference workshops and Conferences:
